In our department we stand for first-class medical care at the highest level. In our clinic we offer you a wide range of surgical treatment options for benign and malignant diseases of the organs of the digestive tract and the abdominal cavity (esophagus, stomach, intestines, colorectum, liver, pancreas and other organs), the endocrine organs (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands) as well as the mammary gland.
With a experienced team of doctors and nurses we treat the patients entrusted to us with the utmost care and empathy and use the most modern technical equipment (including minimally invasive techniques and robotic surgery). The best interdisciplinary therapy is guaranteed through close networking with other specialist departments at the Medical University of Vienna.
In research we work to continuously develop the biological understanding, diagnosis and therapy of visceral surgical diseases with the aim of further improving patient care. We rely on close interdisciplinary and international networking to answer innovative and clinically relevant scientific questions.
As one of the largest visceral surgery departments in Austria, we stand for first-class training and teaching with the aim of recruiting the best future surgeons as employees and training them at the highest level.
